A typical western meal includes vegetables as part of the menu. They make you healthy and keep you alive longer. So when the so-called Super Foods arrived, most embraced them with enthusiasm. That’s how it was with me and being a gardener my garden has most of them. Bok Choy, kale, spinach, etc.

In the last few weeks something started inside my body over which there was no control. The main symptoms were muscle pain, tiredness and dizziness with nausea. After a health problem last year, it was essential to continue gym classes, but they became so difficult to do that a break of more than two months was necessary.

My doctor told me that the dizziness was coming from loose stones in my ears. She prescribed me to lean back over the edge of the bed and turn my head until she started and then lift it up and turn it to the side.

This is not functional! A naturopath said the dizziness was coming from a shoulder injury, while a chiropractor, who is also a doctor, told me the same thing. So the symptoms continued and nothing got better.

One day, after a little exercise in the garden, my right arm seized with such pain that I could hardly move it. That was diagnosed as a frozen muscle and it took over 2 weeks to get better. The doctor prescribed Valium to relax me at night as the pain kept me awake. Being allergic to drugs, that advice was not followed.

Since nothing helped medically, it was the Spirit that provided the answer and the subsequent healing. Desperate for improvement and with a sincere request to know the cause, it was quite a surprise when he pointed to the Bok Choy.

Not understanding its effect, the Internet provided the answer. It has the highest amount of potassium of the superfoods. Kale comes in second, with spinach a close third. Add to that almonds which was part of my staple foods.

Excess potassium creates hyperkalemia (“potassium toxicity”). While it is essential for good health, helping to prevent heart disease, sugar diabetes, and kidney disease, the opposite is true when it is present in excess. In other words, too much potassium damages these organs.

Symptoms include muscle pain, nausea, tiredness, and sudden dizziness, all of which were my symptoms. After my reincarnation and with a strong bond with the Spirit of the Universe it is a great gift to be healed and that is what happened. Now back at full strength, the dizziness, nausea, tiredness and muscle pain are gone. Instead of eating the superfoods, they are giving them away to other people who can eat them along with a hyperkalemia warning.
