CEU For Nurses Are Required to Renew Your License
To renew your nursing license, you must obtain at least one continuing education unit (CEU). These hours can be earned through self-paced packets or conference workshops. You may also earn CEUs by studying professional literature. The state board will approve continuing education courses you complete while practicing as a nurse.
You can renew your license every two years by completing the required 30 contact hours of approved CE. This requirement includes 12 hours of self-study. For renewals of less than three years, you can complete as many as 15 hours of independent study.
