The story of Far Cry 4 confronts us in the middle of a regional war against the forces of Pagan Min and the rebels. We play as Ajay Gale, a local from Kyrat who returns to the native lands to mourn his mother. Here you will see that you need to partner with one site or the other. The missions in Far Cry 4 are varied enough to make it very interesting, even if the story brings back some clichéd moments of time.
How to play
Like the previous game in the series, Far Cry 4 is about exploring a massive gaming world. And while in Far Cry 3 we had a luxury island, now with Far Cry 4 we can explore a virtual world that is very similar to the Himalayan region. Kyrat, the place is full of side quests, quests, and a host of animals that make the whole experience feel authentic. We liked the fact that the animals in Far Cry 4 really play an important role in the game, because you can use them in battle. In fact, if you want, you can lure the animals towards the enemies and kill them or you can even ride the elephants to destroy the games.
When it comes to combat, Far Cry 4 does a great job of keeping the same feel as was found in the previous title, and even if it’s more of the same in this regard, the fact that you have a big new world to go with. to explore. more than makes up for it when it comes to innovation.
We found the mechanics of the game, like conquering towers, to be very interesting, even if they are brought back from the previous title. But perhaps the best part of Far Cry 4 is that you are simply not restricted to playing the game in any way, but can easily explore the land of the game as you see fit.
With so many side missions and challenges like buggy driving or kitesurfing, it can be difficult to focus on the current challenge that the main story brings. On top of that, we also liked that the decisions you make affect the story, in fact there are two different endings just waiting to be unraveled, more or less like in Far Cry 3.
It doesn’t matter if you just want to use a C4 to enter an enemy compound or you just want to take a minute to scour the land for some new herbs to add to your collection, in Far Cry 4 you can do all of that and more. And even though Pagan Min might not be the very bad villain the trailers portrayed him, he still brings a lot of challenges into the mix, and you’ll definitely be blown away by the story most of the time.
Cooperative and PVP
Besides the great campaign and single player mode, Far Cry 4 also offers a challenging and fun multiplayer mode. You can participate in a PVP mode where you have to kill the others as quickly as possible to win, which is actually a great game mode that has a neat progression system. And if that weren’t enough, multiplayer also brings a cooperative experience that allows us to join one of our friends in a very interesting battle against enemy forces.
Sounds and graphics
Graphically, this is the most visually appealing game in the Far Cry series, taking full advantage of the latest technology to make snow, hair, and even backgrounds look as realistic as possible. The character design is great, the animations are fluid, and the whole experience of exploring Kyrat is visually amazing. There are a few minor graphical bugs from time to time, but these are not game-breaking at all.
The soundtrack is similar to what we could find in Far Cry 3, however this time we get a version of the Himalayas. As for the voiceovers, they are well done, especially when it comes to Pagan Min and the other main characters in the story.
Conclution
Far Cry 4 manages to successfully capture the essence of a Far Cry game, and while it doesn’t really innovate the formula, bringing in more of the same is enough for shooting enthusiasts to have a blast with the title. We recommend it to anyone who wants to have a wonderful time in the Himalayas, without being restricted by anything.
