The title alone makes you think this is a book with depth and good insight. The word “Manifesto” reminds you of Karl Marx’s book that changed the history and politics of the world. With millions of his fans following him on his radio show, Mark Levin continues to provide insightful discussions about what it’s like to be an American and a Conservative.

Levin believes in the ideas of America’s founders like Thomas Jefferson. In his comments, he seems to echo what Thomas Jefferson says: “When the people fear their government, there is tyranny, when the government fear the people, this is freedom.”

Recently, Mark Levin commented on Barack Obama and how dangerous it is for people to see Obama as a Messiah who will save them. Levin believes that people should not depend solely on the president to improve their lives, but should have faith in themselves.

Although I disagree with many of Levin’s views, I must admit that he is right. The foundation of American society is that individuals seek their happiness in the way they know how. Each individual has the power to do whatever they believe will bring them happiness. But they must be responsible with the decisions they make throughout their journey to happiness.

Each of us can be our own savior. America today is built on individualism and not on communism. Each one must take responsibility for his own life and property. They should not depend on the government to live their lives for them. The primary responsibility of the government is to remove all obstacles that stand in the way of people’s enjoyment of their basic rights and freedoms.

Conservatives and liberals alike await the publication of Mark Levin’s latest book, “Tyranny and Liberty: A Conservative Manifesto.” It is sure to be a source of lengthy debate and discussion, and like all of Levin’s comments on his radio show, the book is sure to get Americans thinking about what it means to become an American.
