Software full of Performance

Every now and then I read someone’s claim that article marketing is dead. I used to think it could be true. But that’s so wrong!

Most of the time, these statements about the demise of article marketing are made by someone promoting a system or software that works in a manner opposite to what article marketing is about.

How I understand article marketing

To be clear, this is how I understand article marketing. It is the process of researching information on a particular topic and presenting the findings in a way that is helpful and useful to your readers.

So the goal of article marketing is to inform and educate your audience.

Become an authority

In the process of doing so, the writer will increase his position as an authority on his subject. By writing more articles, you will continue to strengthen your authority and gain visibility.

There are many writers who like to expand into many niches and can write successfully on many topics.

Personally, I prefer to write about one or two niches that interest me especially and where I have a true passion for the subject. One of them is the instant messaging niche.

Therefore, following the thinking expressed above, I hope to inform and educate my readers on MI’s concerns. Currently, this would mean information on how to generate traffic to a blog or website.

Everybody needs traffic

Virtually all online marketers, regardless of their background, struggle with generating traffic every day.

I think where critics or doomsayers go wrong is that they don’t realize that for an article to be effective, it needs to be promoted, as suggested by the social media share buttons available here at EzineArticles.

Invite your reader to your website

Of course, in the process of educating your readers, you also have the opportunity to invite them to your own website, where you can continue the education and relationship building that the article began.

This will allow the potential customer to get to know you better, build the important “know, like and trust you” that is so necessary before they can hope to generate a sale.

So how do articles help you build your reputation and authority?

Suppose you write 10 articles on your main topic. Then post an article here. Post or “publish” an article on your blog. Post another article elsewhere. Post another article as a guest blogger.

You then take 2 or 3 of those 10 articles and turn them into YouTube videos.

Then go to some leading forums in your niche and chat about your topic.

If you continue this activity for a few weeks, or better yet two or three months, you will establish yourself as an authority in your field. Then when someone searches for information on your topic, your name will appear.

And this will continue to happen in different sources of information, because you will be dominating your topic and your niche.

I want to be a specialist

That’s why I don’t write about everything under the sun. I don’t want to be a generalist. I want to be a specialist in a limited area of internet marketing. Currently that is generating traffic to your blog. And even within traffic generation, I can be the go-to person for using Facebook advertising to drive traffic.

That should also be your goal, to master your topic so that you can dominate your niche.

So article marketing is not dead … on the contrary, it should be the foundation from which to build your reputation, gain exposure, be known in your niche, to become the go-to person in your market.
